Scotland bids for the 2019 Solheim Cup
Just a year after the very successful 2014 Ryder Cup at Gleneagles, Scotland has reiterated its desire to host another major sporting event by submitting a bid for the 2019 Solheim Cup.
A match played between the best female professional golfers in Europe and the United States attracts huge interest worldwide and it would be another major coup for Gleneagles resort itself and for golf in Scotland.

Many believe that the 2014 Ryder Cup at Gleneagles was the best ever staging of the event in its iconic history and Visit Scotland are hoping to use this as a catalyst to help promote the fantastic array of golf courses in Scotland and also Scotland's ability to host major sporting events.
Scotland is now a popular tourist destination with people visiting from all over the world to experience some of the finest Golf, Fishing, Whisky and sight-seeing.

With the Ryder Cup in 2014, The Open Championship at St Andrews this year, the Open remaining in Scotland for the next two years (Royal Troon and Carnoustie), raising the possibility of hosting the Solheim Cup in 2019. Scotland Golf and it's the popularity is at an all-time high.
